Suzanne S. Brownless graduated from Stetson University with a B.S. degree in Biology in 1971. While working as a CSI the exposure to the courtroom as an expert witness for law enforcement agencies got her interested in the legal profession and a new challenge. Suzanne moved to Tallahassee in 1977 and graduated from Florida State University Law School with honors in 1980.

As a child support attorney in Tallahassee, Ms. Brownless has been focusing on the following:

• Marital and family law cases
• Dissolution of marriage
• Paternity
• Child custody and child support
• Modification of child support
• Alimony and visitation
• Dependency cases

She has practiced in these areas of family law in both the Circuit Court and before the Division of Administrative Hearings.

Her practice has spanned many different areas of the law. She has represented corporations and utilities before the Florida Public Service Commission and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, landlord and tenants in County Court, relatives and beneficiaries in probate cases in Circuit Court, and in the broader field of administrative law, she has extensive experience representing clients in disciplinary and admission cases before the Boards of Architecture and Interior Design, Nursing, Speech Pathology and Audiology and Psychology.

Suzanne has successfully argued in the First District Court of Appeal that the right to voluntarily dismiss a dissolution case continues until a magistrate’s post-hearing report has been reviewed and approved by the circuit court. Kelly v. Colston, 977 So.2d 692 (Fla. 1st DCA 2008).

Suzanne is a member of, Middle District of Florida, Northern District of Florida, Recipient of Second Judicial Circuit’s Pro Bono Award 2008, President of the Legal Aid Foundation of the Tallahassee Bar Association in 2009, and Florida Supreme Court Certified Dependency Mediator.
